After bringing to the audiences, India’s first 3D Dance Film; ABCD – Any Body Can Dance, Disney India and ace choreographer turned director Remo D’Souza are back with its spectacular sequel, ABCD 2; it releases across theatres on 19 June, 2015.

The second chapter promises to be even bigger in scale with current heartthrobs Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead and the inimitable dancing star Prabhudheva reprising his role of Vishnu Sir.

The story traces the journey of an Indian dance troupe, a motley assortment of boys and girls who come from the backstreets of a Mumbai suburb; their rise to fame, sudden downfall and then their heroic attempt to seek vindication by regaining their lost glory and pride. Will they be able to achieve success at the biggest International platform? Will they make their beloved Vishnu Sir proud, who is himself struggling with his not so perfect past? These are some of the questions that the film will try and answer… but till then you can watch the trailer that’s been released on YouTube today.

The trailer begins with a chiseled Dhawan (Suresh) rocking some moves with a troupe of dancers and a gorgeous Kapoor (Vinnie) showing off her fab bikini bod in a few fast paced dance sequences.

The director has purposely tried to play up the success of the earlier movie by adopting most of the soundtracks from the earlier outing to draw an instant connect with the audience as the music was a great hit among the youth.

The trailer shows Prabhudeva (Vishnu Sir) flaunting his dance moves as he says ‘Do I tell him or show him?’… leading into the gruesome training sessions that his troupe are indulging in to participate in a mega dancing event that will take place in Las Vegas.

Dhawan continues to bring his spunk and charm carrying on from his great outing in his previous release for this year Badlapur, which was completely different from what he has ventured into earlier, but with this movie he back at what he does best… Entertain!

Coming to the sound track, the music and background score is delivered by the young duo Sachin & Jigar, who have recently hit the jackpot given the kind of contemporary feel they bring to their tracks. This movie is no different and a flavour of their music can be heard and experienced in the 3 minute trailer.

The VFX for the movie has been delivered by the Mumbai-based studio Riva Animation & VFX, which has recently worked on movies like the Aamir Khan starrer – PK and Akshay Kumar starrer – Baby. The studio specialises in giving a lot of importance to the previz stage and thus has managed to bag some major work in the recent past; apart from also doing some ground-breaking work on music videos and ad films as well.

ABCD 2 seems to be a grand 3D Dance Film, which is India’s answer to the Step-Up franchise with just a little more of Indian flavours of love, friendship, betrayal, honour and redemption added to the mix. And as Dhawan says in the trailer… ‘We dance to express, not impress’; let’s see if the sequel can actually take the franchise to a whole new level this time around.
