ThinkSmart, a Hyderabad based animation studio in India is offering a 90 days “Fast-Track” course in animation. The course, which starts from January 2007, is a “once a year” course and is three months long.
ThinkSmart is an animation and film restoration studios which was established in the late 90’s.
The studio shared that it has also started a 40 days course for Autodesk’s Inferno, an online editing machine used for designing and animation. Talking to AnimationXpress.com, Vishnu Manchu, CEO, ThinkSmart shared, “We are looking at selecting 40 students for the programme and selection is based on their creativity, we believe that people in front of the machine make the main difference in VFX and not the machines, that’s a reason to bring out this fast track course.”
The course content mainly deals on compositing, roto scoping, designing, modeling, texturing, amongst others. The exclusive feature is that students are trained on live projects and get trained even on difficult shots in techniques used by ThinkSmart.
The faculty at ThinkSmart includes top technical talent which has worked professionally in Bollywood as well as Hollywood projects.
Talking about future plans, Vishnu Manchu shared, “ThinkSmart is now recruiting over 140 personnel in 2D and 3D. We have also bid for prestigious films for VFX work and also restoration works. A 5 acre plot has been acquired in Vizag for setting up an animation Village”
