MAAC calling entries for ‘MAAC-artoon 2012’, an Intercollegiate Cartoon Competition

Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), one of the leading Animation & Visual Effects (VFX) training institutes in association with Indian Institute of Cartoonists announces ‘MAAC–artoon 2012’, an intercollegiate cartoon competition for students belonging to the age group of 15 to 21 years, across all colleges in Bangalore. Interested students can register at any of the MAAC’s centres in Bangalore.

As a part of the contest, the participants are required to create their artwork based on the theme, ‘Water Shortage’ and submit it latest by November 24th, 2012. Each participant has the liberty to send up to 3 entries either in black & white or color format in an A3 size hard copy with their age proof and complete details mentioning their name, age, date of birth, education qualification, address and contact information behind the entry. Mr. K N Balraj, Cartoonist, Copy writer and Sculptor will judge the best entry. Artworks of 30 finalists will be displayed at the Indian cartoonists Association gallery from December 4th, 2012 to December 20th, 2012 and added to the archives of the association. The December 4th Exhibition will be inaugurated by renowned Artist S.G.Vasudev at 11 am.

This contest would provide an opportunity to all interested candidates to showcase their artistic skills. The shortlisted candidates will then compete among themselves live on the finale day on December 1, 2012. The winners of the contest would be awarded best prizes like the Samsung Galaxy Ace plus and Wacom Intuos tablet. To grace the event, the star cast of ‘Simple Agi Ondhu Love story’ would visit and promote their movie. The Grand final would be held at Presidency College, Hebbal, Bangalore.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Shajan Samuel, Sr. Vice President, MAAC, Bangalore commented, “Through this contest, we hope to develop a sporting spirit among the competing participants and bring out their creative skills thereby helping them decide on their career and realize their dreams.”
