MContent commissions ‘The Web3 Wonderland’

MContent has announced the commission of a premium documentary series that takes a deep dive into the characters, businesses, entrepreneurs and communities driving the web3 movement.

A co-production between MContent and Villain Studios with Decrypt Media on board as executive producers, ‘The Web3 Wonderland’ (6 x 22’) follows, highlights and showcases six Web3 trailblazers and their groundbreaking ideas about the future of the internet. The series takes a closer look at the work of the people that help shape those changes – following the lead of some of the most successful investors and thinkers of the digital age.

The series is the latest MContent web3-focused factual series commission following ‘Blockchain Life’ a co-production between MContent, Insight TV and Villain Studios.

The series will feature exclusively on MContent’s web3 video streaming platform, the world’s first ‘Watch2Earn’ platform and fully tokenized collaborative content ecosystem with the purpose of seed funding, incubating and curating film makers and content producers around the world.

Phil McKenzie commissioned ‘Web3 Wonderland’ for MContent.

MContent is on track to offer over 1000 hours of content on the platform by the end of 2023. The business also produces original content, via commissions and co-productions with third party partners, focusing on a Gen Z audience.

MContent’s previous original productions also include documentaries and series such as Beirut After the Blast’, metaverse dating show Game Of Love’, ‘Hacking FiFA’ and F1 fan documentary ‘Pit2Paddock.

MContent recently announced the appointment of former CuriosityStream executive Brandon Fong as their new chief of streaming business. The hiring of the well respected industry veteran demonstrates the commitment of the MContent board to strengthen its streaming business ambitions.

Fong will oversee MContent’s consumer facing streaming platform with responsibility for all revenue growth, marketing operations, product development, and user acquisition initiatives. He will also lead new business development and strategic partnerships that integrate MContent’s suite of web3 assets across SVOD, AVOD, FAST and transactional marketplaces. MContent is set to reveal a rebranded version of the streaming platform in mid-November.

MContent chief content officer Phil McKenzie said, ”We are excited to build on the success of ‘The Blockchain Life’ in commissioning ‘The Web3 Wonderlands’. With the help of Decrypt, the leading web3 media studio, we will raise the bar of the stories we tell from the decentralised community during its most dramatic period.”

Villain Studios’ Stefan Tieleman said, “After our successful co-production with Mcontent on the Blockchain Life series, we are very pleased to continue our partnership with this new series. Producing for and about Web3 fits perfectly into Villain’s digital first strategy, alongside our production efforts for streamers.”

Decrypt Media said, “Storytelling and preserving web3 lore is a critical part of building the future of the blockchain industry. Decrypt Studios is so pleased to join with the filmmakers to contribute to ‘The Web3 Wonderland’ and looks forward to continuing to promote web3 education and documentation at this exciting moment in our shared journey.”
