If you want to enjoy an educational game having adorable characters then ‘Alphaman’ is for you. A single player puzzle gaming app, created by Hyderabad based The Awesome Gaming Studio (TAGS), ‘Alphaman’ has been released as a paid app on iOS and Android platforms in USA and Europe.

With a retro setting, the game play of Alphaman that promotes and encourages learning with letter recognition and spelling activities, promises educational fun shows across eleven different maps such as Classic, Garden, Fire, Alien Spaceship and more to find letters and earn rewards for correctly spelling the words. Players can pick up Alphapowers to combat the evil zombie enemies such as dragons, snakes, and sharks and advance to the next map.

Composed with innovative punches like bomb to explode all enemies at once, portal to take your character to next letter, speed boosters and Super Alphapower, the game is blended with more than 10 maps and each maze has over 100 words related to the maze but players must ensure that they eat letters in the correct order for accurate spelling or else Alphaman will lose power and strength.

So, what has been the inspiration behind creating ‘Alphaman’? Rajat Ojha, Founder and Managing Director of TAGS shares with AnimationXpress.com, “I had been obsessed with Pacman and it has been a prime inspiration. I always felt games are a medium for learning too and thought Pacman was a great premise to build a learning tool on.”

Rajat says that Alphaman holds the power to educate you passively. For making the game reach mass audience, he has chosen to keep the game simple. “We want it to be nostalgic for parents, educational for kids and fun for both,” he adds.

Coming to the research executed for this game, being a parent, it was easy for Rajat to understand what a kid will admire. “We carried out crucial research of different festivals so that we can keep releasing themes based upon them.”

On the technology front, TAGS has made use of Cocos 2Dx to create the game.  For testing the game, extensive play testing of the game was carried out and the studio kept on tweaking the difficulty.

Talking about the upcoming plans of Alphaman, Rajat shares, “Get ready to see what the world has never seen before. We are working on something which will blow everybody’s mind. We are excited about Alphaman’s “big future.”
