Sneak Peek into Rocksalt Interactive’s Upcoming Game ‘Yummy Bugz’

In development since a month’s time is Hyderabad based Rocksalt Interactive’s upcoming game ‘Yummy Bugz’. An arcade game with a pet simulator, which will soon release on iOS & Android device, is targeted to mass audience and composed with simple one touch gaming controls. This title comes as the second one from the studio after launching Roadkill Xtreme on iOS and Android platforms.

Elaborating more on the game play to AnimationXpress.com, Zainuddin Fahad, Founder, Games Division Rocksalt Interactive, says, “With pet simulator, you play as the cute and cuddly Boomba the toad, which has the epic task of retrieving his children’s Gifts from the evil Bugz! While you munch down those pesky insects, you have to make sure Boomba is well fed and happy along the way, which will help transform your toad into other awesome critters and get super cool power-ups!”

Initially, ‘Hungry Frog’ was going to be the title of this game, but Rocksalt decided to go with Yummy Bugz and here’s why, “Hungry Frog was used as some brand name& we had to look for alternatives.

“We then decided with Yummy bugs, but faced similar issue, hence we settled with YUMMY BUG’Z” as we are huge fans of Dragon Ball Z.”

Cartoonish and bubbly look and feel is being instilled into this game to justify theword ‘Yummy’.

“The environment is colorful and the characters are all very vibrant with elastic animation style, which helps to maintain the look and feel that we are aiming for and hopefully people will love it!”

This 3D game is being built using Unity 3D game engine and takes inspiration from old Pokemon, Digimon series and interestingly some aspects from the series can be seen in Yummy Bugz.

“Everyone in our team has played these games by Japanese developers and as a result, the experiences are showing up in our games too!”

Keeping in mind the exaggerated cuteness and bubbliness of the game, Rocksalt went ahead with choosing 3D as the medium for creating the app

“The game is created using simple round shapes. We are using stretch and squash animation extensively and hope it will appeal to the players.”

Also, Rocksalt feels that by adding pet simulation for the Toad, the gamers will have a personal bond with Boomba, your toad.

“We’ve taken care of composing the game with all the social features like competitive leader board, daily challenges which will be a strong reason for gamers to be hooked on to Yummy Bugz.”, concludes, Zainuddin
