Diney UTV’s Digital arm has announced the launch of the official mobile game based on the most awaited movie of the year – ‘Chennai Express’. The movie is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Red Chillies Entertainment. Shah Rukh Khan and director Rohit Shetty were present to launch the game amidst much fanfare. Shah Rukh Khan showed off his gaming skills as he challenged Rohit Shetty to compete with him. Disney UTV’s Digital arm has developed the game for both feature phones and smartphones (Android) to reach out to a wide audience of mobile users in the country. The iOS version of the game will be launched around the release of the movie.
In the game titled – Chennai Express: Escape from Rameshwaram, the player takes on the role of Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan’s movie character) and embarks upon an exciting and colorful running adventure, where he fights his way through an army of thugs from Chennai while dodging obstacles like trucks, buses, cars, coconut carts, manholes and more. All three versions of the game are based in the picturesque town of Rameshwaram.
As a special bonus, users can unlock a special Deepika Padukone avatar, by collecting more than ten thousand coins in a single game session. By doing so, Deepika’s fans will be gratified with the special lungi clad Tamilian game avatar of the actress!

SYNOPSIS:

Concept and Features of Chennai Express 3D Game
A 3D perspective over the shoulder free-running arcade game, where the objective is to help the main character Rahul cover as much distance as possible, without getting caught by the chasing thugs.
There are a large number of moving obstacles, like different types of trucks and autos coming from the side, buses and cars coming from the front, etc as well as static obstacles like parked vans and trucks, shopping carts, construction ditches, manholes and more as well as a variety of enemies, like thugs with sticks, a hovering helicopter which keeps dropping enemies, enemy bikers, etc.
The player can execute normal vertical jumps, side jumps to the nearby lanes, forward rolls and also hit enemies by tapping on the attack button when it appears on-screen. If the player character stumbles, he will slow down and the chasing thug leader will be shown just behind him. If he stumbles or falls again, while his pursuer is in screen, he will be caught and it will be Game Over. If the player character successfully evades obstacles for some time, the pursuer will disappear off the bottom part of the screen. The game ends also if the player character is hit by an enemy.
The player can collect a large number of power-ups and bonuses in-game and can also buy more powerful upgrades and power ups from the Marketplace by using the coins collected for purchase.
