MAAC milestone: Half Century

With the inauguration of its London centre, Maya Academy of Avanced Cinematics has reached a milestone, that of having its operations running in over 50 centres.

Speaking to Animation Xpress.com on the occasion MAAC CEO Rajesh Turakhia said,”Though we could have grown even faster, we have tried to make sure that we have good trained faculty in place as we expand with a high quality curriculum deliverance”

The MAAC CEO also shared plans for new courses that were being introduced by MAAC, these include specialised gaming courses as well as a three year long animation diploma.”The demand for game development artists is growing at a fast pace thanks to the constant rise in game development outsourcing to India” he said.

“As regards the three year diploma, we feel that there is great need for such a course and though it will be a diploma we will ensure that the training given is equivalent to that worthy of a degree. The course will be started in independent locations through campuses having special faculty in cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai & Hyderabad” he added.

The recent spate of growth in the Indian animation industry has resulted in great demand for talent and the animation training sector is obviously on an upward trajectory. MAAC being one of the few institutes promoted by a mainstream animation studio, has had a constant stream of Recruiters in its various centres across the country.

MAAC COO Naveen Gupta remarked,”We are glad that we have been able to succesfully place all of our students at leading studios. In fact recently, major studios like UTV, Crest, Anirights, Paprikaas conducted on campus interviews at some of our centres in the south”

“We also rent out our centre facilities to major studios clients for recruitment purposes where they can conduct third party interviews and recruitment excercises” he concluded.
