Cartoon network asia & animasia studio ink sixth animation deal

Animasia Studio and Cartoon Network Asia today announced that the Malaysia-based animation studio has been commissioned to produce new seasons of hit animated series and movie, ‘Roll No. 21’. This project will employ more than 100 local talents in Malaysia for the production and will contribute to the growth of the local animation industry.

This collaboration has further reinstated that Malaysian talents are in fact able to deliver and match high quality animation designs and development for the international market for a prominent global network, such as Cartoon Network.”

‘Roll No. 21’ is an Indian animated series airing in India on Cartoon Network. The series is a modern take on Krishna and Kamsa’s rivalry. In this version, Kamsa has re-incarnated as Principal Kanishk, the principal of Mathura Anath Ashram (Mathura Orphanage & School) where he is cooking his evil plans to take over Mathura and then the rest of the world. He is supported by his various minions and demons.

The series is known for its visually appealing animation and witty storyline. Also the series takes place in a fictional school and so it supposedly connects with kids of same age. Thus, making it really popular among Indian kids. ‘Roll No21’ was also recently nominated for “Best 2D Animation” in Asia TV Awards 2012.

Animasia Studio is currently in its final stages in developing a new animated film, “Bola Kampung – The Movie”, due for a cinema release in Malaysia coming March 2013.
