TASI presents a full day workshop on Model Animation conducted by Vaibhav Studios on 5th May 2012 at JSS Auditorium, 1st Main Road, 38 Cross, Jagadguru Shivarathreeshwara Circle, Jayanagar 8th Block, Bengaluru, India from 10 am to 1 pm.
This hands-on workshop in Model Animation with the Vaibhav Studios team will demonstrate live the process of stop motion/puppet/clay animation. This will include techniques like displacement as well as replacement animation. Stop motion professional artists will guide the participants to create their own wire frame armatures for stop motion.
The workshop will demonstrate stop motion film screenings: puppets, clay, different materials, pixilation, Replacement/ displacement animation techniques, Translating a 2d character design into an armature diagram, Live demonstration of the process of making armatures, Tips and suggestions on materials, Action analysis, Shoot set up, Live demonstration of the stop motion animation shoot, Playback of the action and review, Exhibition of participants’ armatures, and all of this will be followed up by the Q & A.
Talking to Animationxpress.com Vaibhav Kumaresh, Founder, Vaibhav Studios said, “I am looking forward to an action packed, exciting session! Over the years one common problem I find is that students try out lovely models using clay but while animating they face problems as they don’t explore the armature within. The main purpose of this workshop is to guide every participant to create their own character design and then convert them into armatures which they can animate later. My colleagues Chandni Chudasama, Tapas Jana from Vaibhav Studios and dear friend Arvind Chudasama has generously volunteered to help and will be around to personally guide the participants. Vaibhav Studios is going to share a few samples of stop motion/ puppet animation that they have done in addition to a variety of other films. However the focus will be on live demonstrations and hands on practice. They will create a character armature from scratch and shoot it live in front of the audience taking them through every stage while participants create their armatures.
The workshop has FREE entry for all TASI Members (Entry on valid Membership Card only), who can register themselves by filling this form. And Non-members can register and collect a Day Pass (temporary membership)to attend the workshop. Day Pass: For Students – INR 300/- and For Professionals – INR 500/-
