HBO Max announced that their original adult stop-motion animated series SANTA INC. from Lionsgate Television and Point Grey Pictures will debut on 2 December. The trailer of the eight-episode series featuring voice performances by leads Sarah Silverman and Seth Roger is out.
The voice cast also includes Leslie Grossman, Gabourey Sidibe, Craig Robinson, Nicholas Braun, Maria Bamford and Joel Kim Booster.
Candy Smalls (Silverman), the highest-ranking female elf in the North Pole. When the successor to Santa Claus (Rogen) is poached by Amazon on Christmas Eve, Candy goes for her ultimate dream — to become the first woman Santa Claus in the history of Christmas. She will do anything to be named as the first female Santa – even if she has to fight like a man to get it.
The trailer provides a sneak-peak into the series questioning the acceptance of a female Santa. All the half-hour eight-episodes will be available on HBO Max starting 2 December.
The series is created and written by showrunner and executive producer, Alexandra Rushfield. Executive producers include Sarah Silverman and Amy Zvi; Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver and Joshua Fagen for Point Grey Pictures; Rosa Tran, Seth Green, John Harvatine IV, Matthew Senreich, Eric Towner and Chris Waters.
