QUALCOMM Incorporated announced the availability of the first handset in Europe based on QUALCOMM’s uiOneâ„? solution on September 4 06. The ‘O2 Ice handset’ is available from O2, a leading provider of mobile services to consumers and businesses in the United Kingdom. The uiOne offering consists of an open and flexible combination of products and services to help develop and deploy rich graphical user interfaces (UIs) onto mobile devices.
This is the first time that uiOne has been deployed on a commercially available device in Europe. With uiOne, O2 customers can now consider their mobile devices as not only a means of communication, but also an extension of themselves. The uiOne-enabled O2 Ice handset is now available at O2 stores, as well as at major retailers in the UK.
