Tata Elxsi Ltd. and Phoenix Technologies Inc. (PTI) today announced their partnership with the appointment of Tata Elxsi as the authorized India Distributor for PTI’s suite of Real-Time 3D Active Optical Motion Capture systems.
PTI, a Burnaby Canada based company, is one of the few manufacturers of Motion Capture systems based on the latest Active Optical technology and their systems have already won several awards globally.
Speaking about the partnership, Prasad Nair of PTI said “The demand for animation production services from international animation studios spurred by India’s availability of technical manpower to meet 2D and 3D animation requirements as well as lower costs of animation production has led to several North American film and television program producers finding it viable to sub contract animation production activities to independent studios in India. Several Indian companies are setting up state-of-the-art Mocap studios and Tata Elxsi with their background in VFX is extremely well poised to capitalize on this rapidly growing segment.”
