An exclusive master class was organized by Whistling Woods International (WWI) with award-winning animator, filmmaker and ad film director, Kireet Khurana for their animation, game design and visual communication design students.
The interactive session was facilitated to empower students to make informed choices about a career in animation and filmmaking.
To provide students a firm foundation in the field of animation, Khurana described animation being an ’emotion in motion’ and elaborated on the history of animation to help the attendees make good career choices.
Speaking on the importance of tracing the history of animation, he said, “If you need to know where you are going, you need to know where you are coming from. You will succeed only if you have a holistic understanding of the subject that you are here to master.”
A firm believer in the merits of education in creative arts, Khurana further said, “A filmmaker has the power to bring change through impactful cinema because people are influenced by films. Good films empower society, making it a better and more liveable place. We don’t just have a responsibility towards ourselves, but also towards the society we live in.”
The session concluded with valuable takeaways that were well-appreciated by the students.
