Thiruvananthapuram based KFVP (Kerala Film & Video Park) a KINFRA undertaking has announced in a release that it has recieved approval for setting up of a 100% export oriented special economic zone exclusively for animation and gaming.
The Benefits include Income tax holiday for 10 years, Single Window Clearance and 100% import duty exemption.
Speaking to Animation ‘xpress, KFVP MD Suresh Babu stated,”We are happy that ours will be the first exclusive animation and gaming special zone in India. What we are offering is a complete animation specific infrastructure at very competitive rates”
Two animation schools are also being planned. The first is a proposed partnership with the National Institute of Design and has been long in the pipeline. Kinfra also plans a training institute kind of venture which should kickstart within the next 2-3 months time.
