POGO brings you Raju, Chhota Bheem’s best friend, as a superhero in the premiere of Mighty Raju – The movie, on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 12 noon. The property of ‘Mighty Raju’ has been developed by Hyderabad based Green Gold Animation, the creators of Chhota Bheem.
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com Rajiv Chilaka, Founder & Managing Director, Green Gold Animation says, “With a viewership of 34 million children, Chhota Bheem has been the most successful show ever created out of India. In the series, Bheem‘s character is portrayed to be epitome of goodness and strength, while Raju‘s (one of the other popular characters from the series) character is one that aspires to learn good qualities and become someone like Bheem. During the production of one of the Chhota Bheem episodes we came up with the idea of portraying Raju as a super hero where he gets to do anything he wants to. Almost a year later we came with the concept of Mighty Raju.”
In this film, Swamy, a scientific researcher, sends his partner – Karaati to prison for using an incomplete and volatile compound for personal gain. However, unknown to Swamy, his pregnant wife accidently drinks the same liquid and thus their son Raju is born with latent superpowers! Although he gets bullied at school, Raju is a smart, kind and self righteous boy who believes in standing up for his right. One day, under extreme circumstances, Raju discovers his super powers and there onwards, uses them to make cool gadgets and save the people of Aryanagar from goons and accidents. Just when everything is well, Swamy gets kidnapped by Karaati who has returned for revenge. Raju must use his wit and super powers to save his father and the nation who is being held at ransom by Karaati!
