Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc., the company behind many of the most revered brands in children’s entertainment, has appointed Jean Gauvin Creative Director. The announcement was made by Toper Taylor, President and COO.

Based in Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc.’s Montreal office and reporting to Senior Vice President of Marketing, Kelly Elwood, Gauvin will oversee creative and artistic direction for the entire Cookie Jar Group. His responsibilities will include a variety of corporate and broadcast projects ranging from corporate branding and licensing style guides, to development bibles and websites.

Gauvin will be involved in the creative areas on behalf of such globally renowned Cookie Jar Entertainment brands as THE DOODLEBOPS, which airs to impressive ratings daily on The Disney Channel in the U.S., while the brand continues to amass an array of leading licensees in all key categories; CAILLOU, which is soon to begin its fourth season on PBS in the US with all-new episodes garnering praise from media and educators alike; and ARTHUR, which continues to remain a preschool staple with leading broadcasters throughout the world.

“Jean Gauvin brings an extensive and award-winning track record in creative design to his Cookie Jar position. Immensely talented, Gauvin brings a graphic vision that reflects the innovative positioning of our corporate and individual brand identities. Under the direction of Kelly Elwood, Gauvin will play a fundamental role in shaping Cookie Jar’s global entertainment, licensing and corporate creative image,” said Taylor.

“Cookie Jar Entertainment is the home of several of the most exciting new and fresh original brands in children’s entertainment. Prior to joining the company, I had the opportunity of working on THE DOODLEBOPS style guide as a consultant to ensure the theme of a music inspired rock ‘n roll show for preschoolers was accurately reflected. Now, as a full-time member of the team, I am thrilled to be involved all of Cookie Jar’s innovative entertainment brands, said Gauvin.

Gauvin joins Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc. with more than 20 years of experience in the graphic design, creative and licensing fields. Most recently, Gauvin served as Vice-President, Design & Communications for Effigi Inc. where he managed a group of more than 35 design professionals.

Gauvin is the recipient of numerous graphic design awards in Canada and the United States and is an active member of the Quebec Graphic Designers Society.
