CFSI ties up with PVR for on Demand Theatrical Screening of ‘Goopi Gawaiya Bagha Bajaiya’

Children’s Film Society, India, has tied up with PVR Cinemas to release Shilpa Ranade’s Animated Film ‘Goopi Gawaiya Bagha Bajaiya’ and three live action films “Kaphal”, “Woh”, and “Gattu”, in PVR Cinema halls across the country. All these films are produced by CSFI.

This initiative took place as a Pilot Project in February at Delhi last year, where CFSI had screened “Gattu” in PVR Cinema Halls.  Seeing Gattu getting a good response from the kid’s community, Amole Gupte, Chair of CFSI, decided to screen CFSI’s latest films.

For taking this plan ahead, CFSI is targeting schools near PVR cinema halls and then contacting the Principals of these schools to convince them for bringing their children to the theatres to view these films.

Elaborating on the idea behind this tie up to AnimationXpress.com, CFSI, says, “While making films for children is itself a challenge, bringing them to theatres is even more so and with this initiative we are trying to reach out to the children of the country in various innovative and imaginative ways and trying to rope in like minded people seeking their experience, guidance and valuable support to fulfill objective of the Society to provide the children healthy and wholesome entertainment, and to enhance their knowledge broaden their perspective and help shape them into useful citizens of modern India.”

CFSI will make sure to block early morning movie screening slots for school children so that their study schedules aren’t disturbed. Tickets are priced at concessional rates for students which is INR 100.

“Once we receive positive response from the schools we tie up with PVR, blocking the cinema hall on a date and time suggested by the School.” Adds more
