Bharata Natyam danseuse Prachi Save is the voice of Krishna !!

Who would have ever believed!!! The voice of Krishna in India’s first stereoscopic 3D animated feature film “Krishna aur Kans” is none other than famous bharat natyam dancer Prachi Save Saathi. She has indeed made Krishna come alive with her mesmerizing voice, to an extent that her voice and Krishna seems inseparable in the film.

To everyone who has fallen in love with Krishna in the film and his magical voice Prachi comes across as a revelation. Mother of two kids, Prachi says, “I just can’t make others believe that it’s my voice as Krishna. They look at my kids and say I must be bluffing. It must be their voice and not mine (laughs). The best part is that my kids enjoy listening to me as Krishna more than anyone else. They are my biggest inspiration.”

Talking about playing Krishna in the film Prachi says, “ I have never enjoyed playing any other character as a voice artist as much as I have while giving my voice for Krishna. He is such an amazing character to play. Can you imagine the variations and the shades that he brings about! He is a naughty prankster, a beloved son, innocence personified, the best friend for all, and suddenly he becomes the savior, the greatest warrior. His emotions towards his loved ones and rage towards the demons and Kans are in complete contrast. These diametrically opposite character shades provided me the opportunity of self- exploration as an artist. Playing the role of Krishna seems been blessed.”

When asked about how she liked the film, Prachi seemed just as exited as her kids. ”Beautiful, amazing, spectacular, out of the world… I can’t possibly sum it up in words. “Krishna aur Kans” is pure magic on screen. Vikram Veturi the director and the animators of this film are nothing short of magicians. What they have done to the voices that we had rendered for the characters is unbelievable. When I saw film, I just couldn’t believe they could make it all look so amazing and grand. The artists and technicians of this film deserve all the credit really. They are the real stars. We simply deliver our lines the way we feel will suit the characters the best and walk away. It’s them who with such patience match the acting, reactions, lip movement in sink with our voices to bring the characters alive on screen. It’s them who make the characters so lovable for the audience. I really want to give them full 100 marks for the thrilling experience they have created.”

She further added,” Reliance Animation has created a spectacular magnum opus. Just the way it takes 9 months for a baby to be born this film with four years in research and five years in production has taken 9 years to get made. It’s worth the time when you see the grandeur on screen. I feel so proud that I am a part of it. I want every parent and grand parent to take the kids watch “Krishna aur Kans”. There is so much to learn from the film about our culture and our heritage. It’s the best family entertainment that I have seen in a very long time.”

Prachi has been a voice over artist since last 18 years. Having acted in several films and television serials, she has also been a model for some of the biggest brands in the country. As a renowned bharat natyam dancer she has won numerous awards and have performed in some of the most prestigious forums both in India and abroad. With Jism 2 releasing along with Krishna aur Kans, Prachi quipped with a smile and oodles of confidence said, “A seductive Sunny may be mesmerizing, but our natkhat Kishan Kanhaiya will always have his own charm and appeal”. Not much bothered about the clash, she adds, “While Jism 2 is an out-and-out adult film, there is a huge possibility that family audiences would come in with their kids and elders to see how Krishna Aur Kans unfolds in 3D”
