Anirights sets up new facility at Pune

Promoted by Industry Stalwart Ashish Kulkarni, the Multiple award winning studio Anirights Infomedia is setting up a new facility at Pune.

Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, Anirights CEO Ashish Kulkarni shared, ” Pune is known to be the cultural capital of Maharashtra and at the same time, it is considered to be a strong education center. The existence of the film and television institute and active theatre in the city is a true ingredient for animation. As Anirightsâ€? core business commitment is to create feature films for international and domestic markets, it makes sense to be closer to Mumbai. At the same time, the artistic talent requires a creative and peaceful place to work which can be easily provided in a place like Pune”

Located at the airport road near Kalyani Nagar, the new facility will boast of the latest “state of the art” infrastructure. “Of course we will have the latest technology, but as you know this field is about people and the talent. We at Anirights have always focused on that and with this new facility we are all set to grow from 130 artists to 600 in a year’s time, a majority of whom will be strong in traditional animation skills” shared Kulkarni.

“What I would like to mention about the technology” shared Kulkarni, “Is that the studio has been planned after careful benchmarking and evolved CG production pipelines aimed at creating animated entertainment products to be released nationally and internationally”

We have also selected a very strategic location to ensure that the work – life balance for the artists is skewed to give a higher creative output even while artists can pursue a good lifestyle and entertainment options and where good living can be had in a reasonable budget” he added.

Of late, Pune is abuzz with animation. Couple of months ago, one witnessed the launch of the DSK school of animation with Supinfocom, leading gaming company Jump Games has also set up a studio in the city. There is also the strong NVIDIA presence in Pune and this in addition to the existence of studios like Phoebus, Digikore, Fountain Pixels, Rangoli, Toolbox and so on. Pune looks all set to become yet another important destination and hub on the Indian animation map.
