Animated short film screenings for Kids by Shemaroo

nullWith the largest kids population in the world,it is but natural that everything to do with kids in India, including events are going to be big!

Leading entertainmanet company, Shemaroo has collaborated with the chain of Crossword bookstores to showcase its product BookBox through a host of screening of 2D animated short films which began on 4th February 2007 in Mumbai and will continue on a multi-city tour across Indian cities throughtout the year.

A host of screening of 2D animated short films began on 4th February 2007 by Shemaroo to educate children. Among the leaders on the home entertainment front, it has collaborated with the chain of Crossword bookstores

The screenings showcase animated content with patented stories in English and Hindi which are original and never been seen before. The 30 minute show comprises of stories taken from their exclusive kids‘ product BookBox which is Internationally Acclaimed and has won awards from World Bank‘s Global Innovation, Stanford University, Tech Museum of Innovations, The Institute for Social Inventions, London (U.K.) and The Manthan AIF Award.

The two screenings were held on the 4th and 11th of February at Crossword bookstores at Juhu and Mulund respectively and the third screening is scheduled to be held at the Kemps Corner Crossword on 25th February 2007.

Registrations are absolutely free of cost and being done through telecalls, direct mailers, posters, leaflets and word of mouth. The Film Show is followed with a Claymation or a Colouring Contest.

Speaking to Animation Xpress.com, Hiren Gada, VP, Shemaroo Entertainment Pvt Ltd, shared, “Book Box is an outstanding audio-visual “book” for children below 10 years of age. It not only promotes love for reading through extremely entertaining content, but also gives automatic reading practice to children. Hence the idea was to arrange special screenings for children, to make them experience BookBox which redefines the art of storytelling.”

Bookbox has two volumes, each containing five exciting animated stories. It is VCD, DVD and CD Rom compatible and has visual subtitles scrolling below on the screen in English and Hindi which makes reading automatic and subconscious for the child. In addition to the stories there are interactive games as well such as Jigsaw puzzle, Memory game and Join-the-dots.

More of this event will be seen scheduled at Kolkata, during Easter holidays, at Pune and many other locations throughout the year. During this event, Shemaroo will show excerpts of their other kids titles with exciting stories which will be of interest like The Legend of Buddha, Rhyme Time, Sinbad-Beyond the Veil of Mists, Son of Aladdin, Alibaba and Pandavas.

On a concluding note, Hiren said, “Shemaroo has a rich and varied catalogue in home videos. Kids category is something that we are expanding into and will try to bring in lot of quality content in the market. Shemaroo will ensure that it will make the consumer‘s platter full of entertaining and educating quality content, especially when it comes to products for children.”
