And now, play KANK on your handsets

After setting the box office afire, Karan Johar’s latest multi-starrer ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kahana’ can now be consumed on your mobile phone, albeit as a game.

Telecom solutions provider, Mauj Telecom has launched a mobile game based on KANK, enabling consumers to play Dev, the role that Shah Rukh essays in the movie.

“The game is based on the story of KANK, and it captures its essence”, said Noaman Kazi, Project Manager, Mauj Telecom. “The game is as intriguing as the movie”, he added.

KANK is a game where the gamer play Dev, who finds himself in the midst of a four way love story. Not only will he have to win the affection of the two ladies, Rhea and Maya but will also have to avoid Rishi’s wrath. His success will decide whether he is stuck in a turbulent marriage or meets a real soul mate.

The game was completed in 8 weeks, whereas other games normally take 3 to 4 months. “We did not have as much time for KANK, so we put together a larger team comprising of 10 artists, programmers and production executives who focused only on this project and completed it in time for the launch of the movie promotions”, said Noaman.

Mauj telecom is an adept at creating content and games themed around Movies. The content creator is working on developing games on upcoming bollywood movies like Shiva, Aap Ke Khatir, Ahista Ahista, Apna Sapna Money Money, Good Boy Bad Boy and a Bengali movie Kalpurush. Commenting on the challenge in creating such games Noaman said, “Movies use linear story telling whereas a mobile game is an interactive experience, which is always a challenge.”

The game is compatible with all Java enabled Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung Handsets. It is also available on all the Reliance Handsets including the black and white ones.
