Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) has announced to host the eighth 24 FPS Awards 2011 in association with United Nations Information Centre (UNIC). India’s most coveted animation awards are to be held at The Leela in Andheri, Mumbaion 9th December 2011. This time around, MAAC has joined hands with UNIC to promote the 8 Millennium Goals through 24FPS where the movies based on the set theme will be used to drive and accomplish the 8 Millennium Development Goals.
With over 1000 entries from countries like China, France, Germany and the US and over 5000 animation enthusiasts expected to attend, this larger than life event is getting bigger by every passing year and will have more professionals than ever before. The jury of 24FPS 2011 consists of more than 38 industry stalwarts from across the world.
Ninad Karpe, CEO & MD Aptech Ltd said, “While the animation industry is gaining prominence, awards like 24FPS will bring to light some of the best work that this industry has projected in the last few years. We are pleased to present the 24FPS Awards in collaboration with the United Nations which we feel will be a new thrust to achieve the 8 Millennium Development Goals and will further spur the growth of the global animation industry.”
Enthralled about the forthcoming awards, Ram Warrier, Business Head, MAAC said “Our films this year are based on the theme ‘Millennium Development Goals‘ and we have introduced new categories both in International and Indian Awards and got a remarkable response from countries like France, Germany, U.K, USA, China and Pakistan. At the same time the response from all the respected academies and studios from India has been phenomenal.”
“24FPS has become popular as a global platform for rewarding the animation apprentices. The event has gained momentum with respect to participation, quality, enthusiasm and the celebration with a strong support from Aptech. The participation response has risen and we got a fantastic response from academies, colleges, universities, individual professionals and all the reputed studios across the world,” added Ram Warrier.
This event gives youngsters the opportunity to get assessed by veterans and better understand industry demands. This year the awards will be hosted by Manasi Scott.
Some of the eminent jury members include Shelley Page from Dreamworks, Shesha Prasad from Rhythm & Hues, Jeffery Matthew from Autodesk, Merzin Tavaria from Prime Focus Ltd, Viral Thakkar from Pixion amongst other industry stalwarts.
