Samir Bose, Auryn

I’m happy that the Indian Studios have an opportunity to meet the international buyers at the Buyers and Producers Summit that’s going to happen at Lumiere Digitale. And I’m hopeful that one day this may reach the standards of ANNECY and MIPCOM where studios from all over the country can meet the prospective buyers.

Rahul Bakshi, Phoebus Media
– We are already in touch with people from Disney, Nick and Cartoon Network so this chance to meet new players from the industry is very good. I’m looking forward to meet people from KidsCo and PBS and want to know their perspective about our properties. I wish in future we’ll have another round of this where buyers would understand producer’s perspective and costs limitations so that we can all reach on some understanding.

Shripad M. Warkhedkar, Founder-Director, ToonzEra Studios
– We have developed some IPs and would like to pitch 3 properties at the Buyers and Producers summit.
One is a pre-schooler that we would like to pitch to Paul Robinson and then there is a super hero feature and a mature content suitable for channel like Animax.
But we would like to meet each and every buyer and pitch our properties according to the buyers.

Arjun Gupte
– Am pitching a TV series called Delivery Boys, based on a short film I made
this year. I think this would be a great forum for content developers to meet up with buyers and other creators and show them the property directly. Creating a show is a complex and long process and getting buyer’s feedback can help us create an entertaining show which can be successfully aired.

Chetan Sharma, Animagic India
-I’m looking forward to the greater insights that the Buyers and Producers Summit would bring. Also this kind of interaction is rare and India is a developing country and we would want to know what the global audiences want. But at the same time I would like the buyers to understand what the creatives like to create and why. But all said this is going to be an important interfacing.

Ramon Rivero, Director & Producer, LIVEN FILMS
– I would like to get a broadcasting deal and exposure at the Buyers and Producers Summit. And I think the idea to have the one-on-one interaction between buyers and producers is a very good one. I create projects and talking directly to the buyers is a very good thing for me.

Anand Kumar, Fat Baloon
-We are pitching the TV Series Big Top that we have pitched at MIPCOM. I’m looking forward to meet the key people from the industry and get their feedbacks on what is good and what is not good in our property. Also, international summits like Kidscreen and MIPCOM are very crowded so I’m hoping that Buyers and Producers Summit would be better as we’ll get a chance to speak to industry veterans one-on-one.
