Jump develops Online Two Player Multiplayer Cricket Game for Zapak.com

nullIndia is a religious country and Cricket is one of its major religions. And like all things religious, cricket too sells big time in India. Cricket viewing, cricket reading, cricket endorsements. Cricket everything!

In the video/ mobile game context too, there have been several successful Cricket games in the past decade.

Taking the Cricket theme to the next level with the integration of technology, Zapak.com has launched a two player multiplayer game on Cricket which according to Zapak is India‘s (and globally) first online two player multiplayer Cricket game where cricket aficionados from around the world can team up to play with and against each other.

The game was developed by Mumbai-based Jump Games and launched by Cricket legends Kapil Dev and Navjot Singh Siddhu recently in New Delhi.

This game launch comes after Zapak‘s Single Player cricket game, which was clocking close to 35,000 sessions every day.

Beginning with the toss and weather conditions Cricket goes on to give players the liberty to try out comprehensive strokes and bowling styles. The game is played between two players online – the batsman and the bowler. Artifical Intelligence has been employed for fielding and umpiring.

To play the game, a player can create his own room to invite a player or can join another room of a player who is waiting to play the game. The game provides scope to try out innovative shots, choose field settings, face the risk of a no ball, derive the benefit of overthrows and even get run out.

It took Jump Games a period of 10-12 months to develop with a team of 12 programmers and graphic designers including four at part time basis.

About the game Jump Games EVP Ninad Chhaya shared, “Jump Games‘ Cricket is the most comprehensive, first-ever online multiplayer cricket that sports 10 teams, 7 game modes, a host of batting and bowling options and a special ‘Hall of Fame‘ feature! Besides compelling gameplay, the game also sports auto-updated scorecards and statistics displayed after every over. In my view, it is an absolute must-have for every cricket enthusiast.”

Rohit Sharma, COO, Zapak.com shared with AnimationXpress.com, “We have become the fastest growing portal in just a few weeks from launch with an average of one million page impressions daily and close to 20,000 registrations per day. The portal has performed better than our expectations. While we see significant popularity amongst the metro populations we have also witnessed significant registration from non metro locations like Vishakhapatnam, Siliguri, Jabalpur, Ludhiana, etc and also international locations like Pakistan and the UAE. We expect the Cricket game to further catalyze this growth.”

“Players can start playing immediately by visiting Zapak.com as this game does not require any installation of programmes or extra memory space on the computer‘ he concluded.
