Edu-Gaming start-up LogicRoots.com raises $400,000

The edutainment market has been one of the hottest properties when it comes to e-learning. Not only markets like US and UK, but now Indian audience too is opening up to the idea of having their children learn basics from smartphones and tablets.

One such educational game development company is LogicRoots which recently raised $400,000 (approximately Rs 2.5 crore) in a round led by angel investment firm ah! Angels along with Calcutta Angels and 91SpringBoard.

The Jaipur based gaming company was founded by IIT-Bombay alumni Gunjan Agrawal and Kunal Gandhi in 2011, and specialises in creating games on children’s mathematical skills in arithmetic, memory building, fractions and decimals.

“Specialised gaming is a very interesting space. It’s still new for India, but it’s picking up very fast globally. They have achieved very good traction internationally in very less time and have plans to get into more specialised games in near future,” said ah! Ventures, founding partner, Abhijeet Kumar.

LogicRoots.com, which has tie-ups with schools in India, and has partnered major ecommerce marketplaces such as Flipkart and Amazon to sell its edu-based games, proposes to deploy the fresh round of funds for product development.
