From Baby Shark’s global reach to AI-powered storytelling, The Pinkfong Company is looking to make a splash beyond screens. The South Korean entertainment company, best known for Baby Shark, welcomed a high-level United Arab Emirates (UAE) royal and government delegation to its Seoul headquarters on 29 October to showcase its kids and family entertainment portfolio and explore creative-industry collaborations.
The delegation was led by the daughter of the ruler of Dubai and chairperson of Dubai culture and arts authority H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. She was accompanied by UAE minister of state and secretary-general of the cabinet H.E. Maryam Al Hammadi; Dubai’s knowledge and human development authority director-general H.E. Aisha Miran; and Dubai media council secretary-general H.E. Nehal Badri, among other senior officials.
The Pinkfong Company presented its global IP portfolio, including Pinkfong, Baby Shark, Bebefinn and Sealook, alongside its multilingual localisation strategy and AI-driven content initiatives.
The company also highlighted its growing footprint in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), where its content has clocked more than 13 billion cumulative YouTube views. Its regional activities include collaborations with Dubai’s department of economy and tourism, a 3,000-drone show, nearly 100 live performances at Global Village, an immersive play experience at Mall of the Emirates and a retail presence at Korea 360 UAE.
Discussions explored potential collaborations involving local cultural venues, family-focused live performances, AI-powered immersive experiences and Arabic-language content. Both sides also exchanged ideas on co-productions and creative talent development, including possible partnerships with local studios and training programmes.
“It is deeply meaningful to have this opportunity to share with the UAE delegation how our content has reached children around the world, transcending language and cultural boundaries,” said The Pinkfong Company CEO Minseok Kim. “We look forward to building on this exchange to bring together the creativity and innovation of Korea and the UAE, creating new opportunities for children to learn, imagine, and experience joy.”
With its characters already finding audiences across the Mena region, The Pinkfong Company is now exploring how local partnerships, Arabic storytelling and immersive experiences could take that reach further. The next chapter may be written well beyond the screen.
