Lingaa is an upcoming Tamil action thriller film being directed by K. S. Ravikumar, who also scripted the film in collaboration with the film’s dialogue writer, Pon Kumaran. The film marks the return of superstar Rajinikanth in a dual role once again after the mega blockbuster feature Enthiran, Jagapati Babu, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. Music is being composed by A. R. Rahman while cinematography is being headed by R. Rathnavelu.
Principal photography commenced on 1 May 2014 in Mysore; majority of the filming took place in Ramoji Film City. The climax portions were canned in Shimoga.
The movie is being produced by Rockline Entertainments; and distributed by Eros International. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres in December 2014 and the trailer was released on YouTube yesterday, which has garnered over 1.4 million views already.
