Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) with
us! From April 24 to 29, 2018 Stuttgart will become the centre of the worldwide animation industry for the 25th time. Join us for
the celebration of the ITFS
anniversary and
discover the latest animated films and most innovative projects in the games,

The ITFS is among the world's major and most
important festivals for animated film and its links with games, transmedia and
VR. This year, more than 90,000
visitors will again be fascinated by the best animated
films from all over the world. The around 2,500 professional visitors include
producers, curators, clients as well as buyers and representatives of TV
stations, media representatives and filmmakers. With over 200 events and 1,000 films,
the ITFS offers an abundance of interesting and exceptional programmes.
And the ITFS provides a unique platform in cooperation with its partners: The

- Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Immersive Media,
and spotlight -
Festival fur Bewegtbildkommunikation all
take place during the ITFS.
Some upcoming highlights are:.
- "German Animation Screenplay Award", "Tricks
for Kids Series", the "Animated Com Award International" and "Germany's
Next Animation Talent" - the prize for this project competition established
by Studio 100 will be awarded for the first time in 2018.
- The GameZone at
the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart with the main topics "Games
& Architecture" and "e-Sports".
- Focus on Baltic: This programme presents
the great history of animation and the latest productions from the three Baltic
states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

- Studio
presentations by some of
the world's leading animation studios, such as the twice Oscar-nominated
studio Cartoon Saloon from Ireland ("Secret of Kells", "Song of the Sea", "The Breadwinner"), Qvisten Animation from Norway, Moonbot Studios(Shreveport, USA), and the
innovative studio Foam from Berlin.
- In
Persona: Retrospectives on outstanding animation artists, including Ivan Maximov (Moscow), Florence Mihaile
(Paris), Priit Parn and Ulo Pikkov (both from Tallinn).
- Music &
Animation: Concert with
live animated visuals by Canadian musician and animator Chad VanGaalen at Manufaktur Schorndorf.
- David Sproxton personally presents Aardman's
latest film made for cinema: "Early Man", and Will
Becher lets you take a look behind the scenes of production.
- Screenplay
workshops, including "Comic
& Graphic Novel" held by Thomas Pletzinger and
Tim Dinter
- 16 competitions
with prize money totalling over 100,000 €.
- Distinguished associates and friends of the
Festival such as David
Silverman (Los Angeles), co-inventor of the "Simpsons", director of "The Simpsons Movie" and a regular visitor to
the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film, Oscar-winners Christoph and
Wolfgang Lauenstein (Hamburg) will honour the ITFS with their presence on the occasion of its
25th anniversary.
