The workstation to organize workshop on classical animation

Mumbai based animation institute, The Workstation Computer Education, a division of Tasaa Netcom Pvt. Ltd is organizing a workshop by well known animator, Nitish Nigde on classical animation on 8th July ’06.

Two time slots have been scheduled for the workshop, the first one from 11 am to 1 pm and the second from 3 to 5 pm at Nanavati Women’s College in Vile Parle (W). There is no fee to attend the workshop and registrations to book for a particular time slot can be made over the phone.

The workshop will focus on: presentations on 2D classical animation films, scope for animation film making, sketching, various production stages, classical animation course structure, 2D animation as a career option and will be concluded by a question and answer session.

The institute is also offering a one year part time application based course on cartoon/ classical film making in addition to its other courses. The course will cover pre-production, production and post-production and the development of a portfolio. It will focus on all aspects that are essential to the field and emphasis will be laid on drawing skills, animation film making and animation portfolio. Placements will be offered to the first ten students on successful completion of the one year course.

Roopali Kurve, Executive Director, The Workstation Computer Education shared with Animation ‘xpress, “We are conducting the workshop for the part time course on classical animation, and our aim is to train students to deliver “quality” and “quantity” work, required in the field.”

She further added, “The Workstation has been successfully training students since 1997. Our aim is to impart training with state of art infrastructure, professional teaching, with an appropriate mix of theory and practical to help the students exploit their creativity and prepare them for a career in the field they choose.”

“We have successfully completed nine years of training and will continue in our effort to ensure that courses are designed and taught in a way so that students learn skills required to excel in the field they opt for” concluded Roopali.
