Karnik calls for united effort

“ITes is Indiaâ€?s no 1 export sector, well over 70% of IT revenues also come from exports, and the skills of International business and export have been developed in India and those have to be appplied along with the IT & Entertainment skills” he added.

Emphasising upon the need to be united Karnik made a call to action urging, “We need to have a strong cohesive voice. I see a lot of fragmentation in animation and gaming, of course we compete but we need to have a united stand that has scale and traction which will enables us to get action, to get heard from the government. We have done that with the IT Industry and I am not saying that we have to necessarily hold that as a model, but there a few lessons we can learn from it”

Pointing out that education and human resource capability building was a key critical area of focus, NASSCOM President shared,” Our talent and potential is being recognised internationally, the challenge is how do we build Human resource capability on a scufficient scale. Tis is one of the focus areas of our event today. We need to explore Public Private Partnerships, the dialogue has been on with the government and we at NASSCOM are doing our best, the efforts have been on for while but I think that now, the time is right and we need to put in a consolidated effort”

NASSCOM is very keen and commited to this industry we would love to work with the creative side and look at the great synergy that is possible.
