WB drops ‘Tom & Jerry’ movie trailer, hitting the nostalgia nerve

The long awaited trailer is finally here! The duo with a bitter-sweet relationship, Tom and Jerry are back and this time they are seen in a hybrid live-action and classic animation movie.

The official Twitter handle of Tom and Jerry movie shared the trailer. The caption reads, “Tom and Jerry take their cat-and-mouse game to the big screen. Watch the trailer for the new #TomAndJerryMovie now coming to theaters 2021.”

Here’s the synopsis:
One of the most beloved rivalries in history is reignited when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century,” forcing the event’s desperate planner to hire Tom to get rid of him. The ensuing cat and mouse battle threatens to destroy her career, the wedding and possibly the hotel itself. But soon, an even bigger problem arises: a diabolically ambitious staffer conspiring against all three of them.

A Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Animation Group presentation, Tom & Jerry will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. Directed by Tim Story and produced by Chris DeFaria, the movie is slated to release next year.

The last Tom and Jerry film, titled Tom and Jerry: The Movie released back in 1992. It saw Tom and Jerry forgetting their differences and working together as a team after being thrown out of their homes.

Nelvana appoints global licensing agent for Monomi Park’s ‘Slime Rancher’

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, an international producer and distributor of children’s animated and live action content, announced today its global licensing partnership with independent game studio, Monomi Park for its award-winning game, Slime Rancher.

“We are thrilled to announce Nelvana as the global licensing agent for Slime Rancher. We can’t wait to see what wiggly adventures are in store for Beatrix and the slimes, as the Slime Rancher brand expands into all sorts of cool stuff outside the game world we’ve created,” said Monomi Park CEO Nick Popovich.


The exciting new deal will see Nelvana expand the Slime Rancher brand as global licensing agent for consumer products in key categories including toys, publishing, apparel, and accessories.

The game taps into creature-collecting with its wide variety of slimes, and we look forward to bringing this unique concept to life with consumer products for audiences around the globe,” said Nelvana Enterprises VP, global consumer products and international distribution Mellany Masterson.

Slime Rancher is a charming, first-person, video game experience, featuring a courageous, young rancher named Beatrix LeBeau who sets out for an adventurous life one-thousand light years away from planet earth on the ‘Far, Far Range.’ Created for children six to eleven, Slime Rancher allows users to play as Beatrix LeBeau, as they collect colourful slimes, grow crops, harvest resources, and explore the untamed wilds through the mastery of an all-purpose vacpack.
