Zodiak Kids sells the first two seasons of ‘Little Princess’ to Amazon Video

Little Princess and her family first hit screens in October 2006 on Channel 5’s Milkshake. Three series, 100 episodes and two specials later, the brand of Little Princess continues to thrive.

On the eve of her 10th anniversary, it has been announced that Zodiak Kids has sold the first two series to OTT platform Amazon Video, in a package deal for a number of their titles.

This is followed by the announcement by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution that they are to represent the feature film Little Princess and the Legend of Blue Foot for international sales and distribution in the UK.

Little PrincessIlluminated Films’ Iain Harvey expressed, “It is exciting times for Little Princess and her brand. Looking ahead we have a lot of plans for her and hope these new ventures will lead to another ten successful years of Little Princess for another generation of children to enjoy.”

Little Princess has been sold worldwide to over 150 territories. Notable achievements include Rai’s purchase of all three series, three times; all three series sold to Ciwen in China and ABC in Australia; renewed rights in Japan; daily primetime slot on UK’s Channel 5 and ZDF in Germany.

Her online presence has also been cited a success. Little Princess was sold to Netflix on a worldwide deal prior to her moving across to Amazon Video. She also has her own YouTube channel, plus fan page channels that have over 20,000 subscribers and more than 40 million views.

Having become a part of Channel 5’s Milkshake core programming, coupled with Milkshakes increased ratings year on year, Channel 5 are commissioning a fourth series of Little Princess, set for launch in autumn 2018.
