Warner Bros opens its billion dollar theme park in Abu Dhabi

Batman v Superman may have brought both Gotham and Metropolis together on the big screen for the first time, but now those cities have now materialised into reality with Warner Bros World, which opened recently in Abu Dhabi.

The new billion-dollar Warner Bros World will possibly be one of the largest indoor theme parks ever built. The new attraction features six marvellous lands for visitors and has effectively brought to life DC’s superheroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman and animation characters including Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones.

The theme park is based on Yas Island, which already is home to indoor theme park Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and the world’s fastest roller-coaster, Formula Rossa. The 1.65 million sq ft, climate-controlled Warner Bros World park adds nearly 30 more rides to the Island, including Batman- Knight Flight, which allows visitors to fly in a batwing. The environment inside is altered it to the convenience of the visitor considering the desert country’s hot temperatures, whereas the interior makes it look like it’s always midday.

The project is the product of a partnership between Warner Bros and Abu Dhabi asset management company Miral. Comicbook nerds, take note. The exhilaration is real!
