With the entire Bollywood fraternity converging together to witness the Zee Cine Awards 2020, the event saw plenty of glitz and glamour. Hosted by none other than Rajkummar Rao and Aparshaktii Khurrana, the event saw a series of awards awarded to various industry professionals for their artistry.
The Best VFX award went to yFX VFX artists Sherry Vardha and Vishal Anand for the movie War. The VFX-rich movie was worked upon in the in-hour VFX studio of Yash Raj Productions named yFX.
Kabir, a secret agent, goes rogue after a mission to catch a terrorist goes awry. However, his boss sends Khalid, another agent and his student, to track him down.
Featuring top bollywood starcast, the movie featured heavy VFX imagery interspersed with explosion and action sequences aided by high-quality visual effects deployed at the yFX.
One of the VFX artist associated with the projects revealed this on his Linkedin with a post that read, “Another feather on the crown of #war movie! War wins “Best Visual Effects” 2020 Zee Cine Award. It’s a proud moment for me and wonderful experience working with an excellent #VFX team of Good Artists.”
yFX had also won a filmfare award in the VFX category for the same movie.
Anand had shared his achievement a month ago with a post saying, “Tonight we won the best VFX for war, this one is for team yFX. Thank you for all your hard work.”
Apart from VFX award, the movie was also recognized for action direction with Best action director award given to Parvez Shaikh and Paul Jennings for War. Visual effects have become inseparable components of the filmmaking process, enhancing the imagery to make them more potent for cinema. We are pleased to see the developments on the technological front.
