Oriental DreamWorks ropes in Peilin Chou as head of creative for feature animation

Peilin Choiu has been named as the head of creative for feature animation at the Animation joint venture Oriental DreamWorks  as the studio works toward a January release of “Kung Fu Panda 3” and future films.

While adding more light on the advancement,  James Fong, Oriental DreamWorks CEO  said that Peilin’s prolific background and distinguished achievements shall bring an invaluable level of expertise to Oriental DreamWorks.He also said that  She will be instrumental in advancing their mission to create world-class family entertainment in China for both the local and global markets and  hence would be building their  entire feature animation film slate leading towards the development.

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and Ruigang Li, chairman of Oriental DreamWorks, also praised the hiring of Chou, saying it would help Oriental DreamWorks as it continues to build upon its status as a leader and innovator within the creative community in China and beyond.

Chou said that she wanted to make Oriental DreamWorks a welcoming creative home for both established filmmakers and emerging artists in China and around the world.

Chou in the past has served as the vice president of original series at Spike TV and also has she helped launch the network and its original animation programming. Before that, Chou served as a director of development at Nickelodeon and worked as a development executive at Walt Disney Feature Animation, the Disney team oversaw “Mulan,” “Toy Story 2” and “Hercules.”

Also with Kung Fu Panda 3 releasing in China and USA simultaneously, on 29 January next year, the lady definitely seems to be pulling up her socks to work towards it in a short period.
