‘Order of Kings’ season three brings new units, commanders and dynamic weather to the battlefield

Order of Kings Season 3 [Contention of Schools] is Now Officially Live!

Order of Kings has launched its season three, Contention of Schools, introducing a new battlefield scenario, school gameplay, six new unit types, commanders and a dynamic weather system.

Developed by DW Studio, the Simulation/Strategy Game (SLG) x Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game launched the new season on 15 August. The season trailer showcases the new school gameplay, units, general characters and battlefield features designed to add greater strategic depth to the game.

The new scenario is set in Luoyi, where four major factions: West Qin, Jingchu, Qilu, and Yanzhao, compete for control. The map features four starting provinces, two resource provinces and the central Heluo. Alliances belonging to the same faction are considered friendly by default, allowing players to coordinate their expansion and military campaigns.

As the season progresses, players will work with their faction allies to invade resource provinces before advancing towards Heluo and eventually entering the decisive battle for Luoyi. Certain gameplay conditions are met, lords can choose different school effects to strengthen their development and combat capabilities.

Six new unit types inspired by elite troops from the ancient Chinese Warring States period have also been added. These include Qin elite warriors, border cavalry, Wei martial elite, Jisha crossbowmen, skilled warriors and Shenxi division, giving players more options for building their armies and developing battle strategies.

Another major addition is the environment and weather system. Battles can now be affected by rainy, foggy, windy, snowy, sandstorm, and thunderstorm conditions, alongside the special environment of famine. Weather can also alter the terrain. For example, plains may turn into puddles during rain, while rivers can freeze during snowy conditions, creating new tactical possibilities on the battlefield.

The season also introduces new commanders including Ying Zheng, Liu Xiu, Su Qin, Li Mu and Yang Yuhuan. Their skills include silent whistle arrow, calm and steady, flee in mist, breakthrough stronghold and lone fighter, adding further possibilities for team combination.

To mark the new season, Order of Kings has launched events including daily check-in, taking the lead, expanding territories and a heroes contest. Players can receive rewards such as five star commanders, Tongbao and Seeker Order to support their progress.
