One Life Studios (OLS), an Indian content production, distribution, and media company, is taking its Indian epics on the road, with Germany and Gujarat the latest stops. The independent Indian media company has announced new licensing deals for its award-winning drama series Suryaputra Karn, Devi Adi Parashakti and Chandragupta Maurya.
In Germany, OLS, through its association with Omniterra, an Indian adventure-based entertainment and aerial stunt rigging company, has licensed Suryaputra Karn and Devi Adi Parashakti to Narativ Media. Closer to home, Chandragupta Maurya has been licensed to Laxmi TV Gujarati, a satellite television channel broadcasting a localised Gujarati-language version.
The deals put three sweeping historical and mythological dramas into new markets, giving familiar Indian stories another chance to travel and, in the case of Chandragupta Maurya, speak directly to a regional audience.
Suryaputra Karn and Chandragupta Maurya were created, written and directed by One Life Studios founder and CEO Siddharth Kumar Tewary. Tewary was recently named a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the organisation behind the International Emmy Awards.

Suryaputra Karn retells the Mahabharata through the eyes of Karna, the son of the Sun God. From his divine birth and abandonment to his rise as a formidable warrior, his bond with Duryodhana, moral dilemmas and tragic fate, the series explores the journey of one of the epic’s most complex and often misunderstood figures.
Devi Adi Parashakti (The Supreme Power) turns to the divine feminine. Set at the beginning of time, the drama follows clashes of ego among the Hindu trinity that threaten the balance of the cosmos. Devi, the timeless and formless divine energy, manifests as a divine partner to each god and, through her many avatars, imparts lessons to gods, demons and humanity.
Meanwhile, Chandragupta Maurya takes viewers back to 320 BC, following a young boy born a prince but raised as a slave. Guided by strategist Chanakya, Chandragupta rises to power, unites fragmented kingdoms and establishes the Maurya Empire. The series charts a journey shaped by ambition, resilience, strategy and destiny.
With Germany getting a taste of its mythological dramas and Gujarat getting its own-language Chandragupta Maurya, One Life Studios is showing that a good epic can travel far, provided the story is strong enough to cross every border.
