Gameloft shuts shop in New Zealand

Gameloft has shuttered one more studio and this time it’s New Zealand who has been at the axe. As reported in Gamasutra, the New Zealand location has been closed and 160 of its staff members have been affected.

Gameloft is a French company and was started by Michael Guillemot in 2000. Today, the studio has subsidiaries all over the world with more than 5000 employees in total. It deals predominantly with mobile titles.

The New Zealand studio was a relatively young studio, they started releasing its first games in 2011 and since have developed games like Zoo Rescue, My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop.
