The franchise that created a world of magic with its wizard and fictional world, Harry Potter, has finally witnessed the most awaited spin off named Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them. A spin off of a blockbuster of such profound level needs or rather demands a veteran at the helm. So to do justice to it, this film is scripted by J. K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter novels.
Directed by the creative mind behind this franchise, David Yates, the film aims to create another phenomenal magic by blending the factual world with fictitious events. As per the teaser trailer released, the film takes back the audience to the New York City in 1926. Being a spin off, this film focuses on the aspect of magical creatures in link to the franchise.
The lead character, Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, is introduced as a Magizoologist who has found some extraordinary creatures with various magical possessions. The mystery builds up as a magical case is misplaced and the teaser reveals a brief idea on what may lie inside the case. Towards the end, it informs about the escape of the magical creatures and typical Harry Potter style magic mantra.
‘To create a fictional world you need a magical ingredient’ And in this film, VFX has served as the catalyst to create a fantasy. The Visual Effects done by Cinesite, Double Negative, Framestore, MPC and Rodeo FX are quite evident in the teaser itself with the words and background appearing in a magical form. Also, the name of the film appears on similar lines of the Harry Potter franchise in terms of the look. The effects used to enhance the letters of the film strongly aims to imprint and drill it in the minds of the viewers so that they can anticipate the spin off.
‘One Imagination leads to another imagination’ is what the franchise has always believed and in this spin off with the name as Fantastic Beasts it has already created an imaginary world in the minds of the viewers. Though much is not revealed in the teaser, we can definitely hope for an extravaganza of adventure and assure ourselves of experiencing some fantastic beasts coming to reality. A Warner Bros. Studios production, this film is set to release on 18 November 2016.
