‘The Last of Us Part I’ remake confirmed for PS5, soon to launch on PC

Earlier in the day, a leak took place regarding the release date of The Last of Us Part I and its supposed development on PC, which has now been confirmed by Naughty Dog at Summer Game Fest 2022 with the official trailer of the game for PS5. The Last of Us Part I is set to release on 2 September 2022. This puts Joel and Ellie’s quest to follow in the footsteps of enhanced older PlayStation exclusives like God of War, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and Horizon: Zero Dawn, which have all received PC versions.

As per Naughty Dog’s website, they have implemented modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options in this single-player experience to allow even more individuals to enjoy the game. Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5’s powerful hardware, they have also implemented 3D Audio, haptics, and adaptive triggers. To bring this project to life, the directorial baton has been passed to game director Matthew Gallant and creative director Shaun Escayg.

The developer also revealed a few more details about the HBO series and mentioned that the standalone game they’re making will only be multiplayer. According to the website, the multiplayer which they are creating is much bigger than a mode and they are growing their studio to build this standalone game. Naughty Dog has also shared a piece of concept art. More details about the same will be disclosed next year.

Similar to the PlayStation 4 release of The Last of Us Remastered, this remake will include the Left Behind story DLC for everyone. The standard edition will cost you $69.99, while the digital deluxe edition will cost you at least $10 extra and provide early access to numerous in-game items. The firefly edition is the most expensive, at $99.99, and it’s only available through the PlayStation Direct website. It includes all of the unlock bonuses from the digital deluxe version, as well as a SteelBook display case and the four-issue comic series The Last of Us: American Dreams, which features the brand-new cover art for each issue.
