EA’s ‘Need for Speed Unbound’ to release in December for PC and next-gen consoles

The upcoming Need for Speed game from Electronic Arts, Need for Speed Unbound, introduces fans of street racing to Lakeshore, a brand-new open-world city. According to the publisher, Need for Speed Unbound will be released on 2 December for the PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.

As per the official release, the synopsis reads: Step into the world of Lakeshore City when a robbery at a family auto-shop tears two friends apart and marks the rise from rookie to top racer on a journey to win the ultimate street race and reclaim the priceless car that was stolen. To get to the top, risks must be taken. Choose how and when to put it all on the line, pulling huge drifts on the street, outdriving the cops, or placing side bets with your own earnings against rival racers. But remember, the faster you go, the more heated the chase is… Think smart, take bold decisions and run the streets of Lakeshore.

Need For Speed will have visuals and sound effects inspired by graffiti as the players race though Lakeshore. Rapper A$AP Rocky’s AWGE creative firm contributed music for Need for Speed Unbound as well as creative ideas. A$AP Rocky makes an appearance in the game as the head of the Takeover Scene faction, which has a replayable precise driving mode that prioritises style over speed and a concept where players attempt to seize specific portions of Lakeshore for themselves.

Only for PC and current-gen consoles, Need for Speed Unbound has a next-gen price tag. A deluxe Palace Edition – named because of its connection to Palace Skateboards, which retails for 79.99 dollars, includes exclusive content such as four custom cars, a clothing pack, driving effect, decals and licence plate, character pose, and banner artwork, in addition to its 69.99 dollars standard offering.
