With SpoofhMania, we are encouraging all kinds of filmmakers by bringing them on a common platform. Also we would be getting into distribution of films after the festival, which would also mean exploring monetization for all winning filmmakers. I feel the themes and genre given for this competition quite new and unique and it will allow one to be extremely creative.

Animation allows us to be more creative and develop scenarios and plots that are not achievable in other mediums of filmmaking. We are open to all kinds of animation and VFX, but the idea of spoofing should be the base for building it further through animation.”

Last Date for short film submission is 15 October 2012 and the entry fee is Rs 500. The jury for this competition has renowned filmmakers, comedians, some of the finest names from advertising industry.

When we asked Gaurav about his favorite subject of spoofing and the criteria of winning this competition, he replied by saying, “Well, I really love the Mahabharata spoof scene from the movie ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’ and I wish to create something on the same front. I believe, the power to Spoof a subject in the most intelligent manner, picking a subject which is universal yet not been spoofed till now will win.”

This competition format does not support Spoofs/parodies targeting any religion, culture, castes and also usage of names of real persons, organizations must be restricted.

Good things don’t come without any reward and the same is with this competition too!! Winners of SpoofhMania will bag various prizes of more than Rs 1, 00,000 and also selected films will makeir way to multiple cities and screenings apart from the Festival, which will be at a premium venue in Delhi and Mumbai this November.
