Recognised Cartoonist and Animator Abhijeet Kini launches Comic Book titled ‘Angry Maushi’

Launched at the recent Mumbai Film and Comics Convention, Angry Maushi, is a 20 page comic book, written and illustrated entirely by Abhijeet Kini, who has illustrated for publications, magazines and comics, Tinkle, Random Timeout Mumbai, Hindustan Times, DNA , The Teenagers and a long list to go.. Also, Abhijeet runs his creative service titled ‘PLAN B’, which deals in web and animation projects.

The storyline of ‘Angry Maushi’ speaks about a politician wanting to take over the sewage of the city and transform it into a brain washing formula, so that his government stays in power forever and here comes the entry of  ‘Angry Maushi’,

It has taken only 15 days for Abhijeet to finish this comic book. Speaking to Animationxpress.com’s Zeenia Boatwala about the birth of Angry Maushi, Abhijeet, shares, “I created Angry Maushi as just a face when I was designing my merchandise for the Mumbai Comic Con last year. I wanted to come up with a character, who is quintessentially Mumbai.”

Abhijeet has also written and illustrated a Tinkle comic titled ‘Julius or Bork’, but Angry Maushi is Abhjeet’s first self published comic book.

Emphasizes further, “While developing Angry Maushi, I wanted to bring across the fact that the citizens of Mumbai are angry about some issues and Maushi is the essence of the anger in the people of Mumbai. A saying “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” always fascinated me and so I thought Maushi can be this really enraged citizen who takes matters into her own hands.”

For developing this book, Abhijeet studied certain issues related to Politicians, Auto Rickshaw Drivers, Fertilizers, Organic living, which sometimes disturb the people of Mumbai. “This comic book reflects everything that I have experienced in Mumbai. It’s my own perception of our city in a very demented way.  My wife has always contributed to developing the character of Maushi, as she handles our merchandising business. I ran the ideas with her and she loved them.”

According to Abhijeet, the overall color treatment for Angry Maushi is Quirky and Loud. Abhijeet has been merchandising Angry Maushi for a year now, at all Comic Cons and on Facebook too. At Comic Cons, the book is priced at INR 50 and if you are planning to buy a copy of Angry Maushi, you can email Abhijeet at abhijeetkinimerch@gmail.com and visit the official page of Angry Maushi by logging onto https://www.facebook.com/AngryMaushi

“This comic is an uncensored mirror of times and I feel this kind of humor is hard to find in our hypocritical society.” concludes, Abhijeet.
