‘Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara’ teaser trailer released

『怪獣デコード アイダラの指輪』特報|2027年公開予定

Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara teaser trailer is out, scheduled for release in 2027.

In addition to the animated footage, the character voices of Maru, voiced by Aya Yamane, and Coco, voiced by Karin Takahashi, will be revealed for the first time.

The video promises the birth of a new monster epic, featuring Maru, a boy who hunts monsters to make a living in a society where reality and virtuality coexist, and Coco, a girl who wishes to live alongside monsters.

Alongside the teaser trailer, a third teaser visual for Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara has also been released.

The released visual depicts Coco reaching out her hand to the kaiju Geera with a gentle smile, giving us a glimpse into Coco’s feelings towards the kaiju.

The anime follows a youth named Maru who lives in a peaceful city, a society freed from the restrictions of the body, mind, space, and time. In contrast, a girl named Coco, a member of the Aidara Tribe, resides in the Zone, a treacherous area also inhabited by incredible beasts. The story revolves around two opposing characters seeking a path into a shared future.

The project’s official website writes, “Under the theme of A Tale of Kaiju and A Girl, this project aims to produce high-quality animation that will be accepted by people of all ages overseas while utilising the strengths of Japanese animation and new technology.”

Toei Animation’s Kouichi Noguchi and Tsuburaya’s Masahiro Onda serve as co-producers at their respective companies.

The film is written by sci-fi novelist Katsuie Shibata, with monster designs by Masayuki Gotoh at Tsuburaya; Maru’s character is designed by Sei Nakashima, and Coco’s character is designed by Masatsugu Saito.

The exact release date has not yet been announced.
