TASI presents ‘A Filmy Day with Sons of Ram and Krishna aur Kans’ on 24th Nov at Mumbai

Keeping the flag of animation high, TASI is back with its fresh seminar set titled ‘A Filmy Day’, in which, one can take complete joy of experiencing special movie screenings of India’s very  own mythological feature Sons of Ram and Krishna aur Kans. Not only this, but also, this seminar will be graced with in-depth discussions about the making of these movies by the creators themselves!

Present at the event will be Kushal Ruia, Writer and Director of Sons of Ram, Ashish Kulkarni, Producer of Krishna aur Kans with Vikram Veturi, who has been the director for the movie and will be speaking on the line up of movie creation starting from direction, scripting, voice casting, production, distribution, and finance.

Highlighting about the driving factor of Filmy Day, Vaibhav Kumaresh, Committee Member, TASI informs, “TASI has always served as a great platform for creating a closer dialogue between our film makers and our animation community. Closer interaction and awareness was also stressed on during the highly engrossing panel discussion with Indian animation film makers at Anifest India 12. Therefore TASI is very glad to be dedicating an entire day to this cause. On behalf of TASI, I would like to thank Team ACK and Team BIG Animation for their participation. It’s a great opportunity for our future film makers to learn about the challenges that await them.

‘Krishna Aur Kans’ has recently bagged the prestigious Asifa “Special Jury Award” in the best animation and special effects film category and is currently of the strongest contenders from India this year for the Oscars 2013 as it is placed amongst the top 21 animated films from across the world. Ashish Kulkarni, in his session will be sharing about the making of ‘Krishna Aur Kans’ and discussing not only the process and the making of the film, but also the analysis of the research, sound design, use of language..

Informing about Krishna aur Kans session at Filmy Day, Ashish Kulkarni, CEO of Reliance Animation and Producer of Krishna aur Kans shares, “.I would be sharing about the films important facets like the value of song composition and slokas the strategic reasoning that went in and also defining the treatment right from story to script to design and execution form an integral part of the presentation. This linear presentation of creation of ‘Krishna Aur Kans’ from ideation to script and script to screen is expected to  provide the desired impetus to all aspiring looking for a gratifying career in animation & film making.”

Sons of Ram released last month has been applauded by all! The bonding of Luv and Kush is of chief interest these days. In Sons of Ram session at Filmy Day, Kushal Ruia will take the attendees through the ins and outs of the movie.

Kushal says, “Besides screening the movie, I will be showing some behind-the-scenes art and Hopefully the audience will get some insight in the making of this unique hand-drawn animated movie and learn from our experiences…both good and bad!

Kushal feels that one should attend Filmy Day because, “If you plan to be in an industry, you should be interested in what your peers are doing. You never know what insights you might find.”
