Stan Lee’s NFT drop ‘Chakra The Invincible’ sells over 12K digital collectibles in less than one minute

Demonstrating global unprecedented success for the NFT industry, Orange Comet one, of the world’s leading NFT entertainment studios, in collaboration with BeyondLife.club powered by GuardianLink.io, announced that its partnership with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment and Graphic India and the subsequent launch of the limited-edition Chakraverse NFT collection resulted in the most successful US-India NFT sale in history.

The first drop, which took place on 27 December, released 6,865 unique generative art pieces based on characters, and sold out at a staggering speed of 51 seconds, followed quickly by a second release on the morning of 28 December with 5,400 NFT comics, which all sold out even faster at 49 seconds—making them two of the fastest NFT drop sellouts around the world. In total, people from 14 countries participated in the auction, with 22 per cent of the audience residing in India. The auction craze soared high on social media as well with #StanLeeNFT trending at number three on Twitter in India on 28 December 2021, the anniversary of Stan Lee’s 99th birthday.

In 2012, Stan Lee discussed Chakra The Invincible, saying, “I have always been fascinated by Indian culture. It’s so philosophical and rich in tradition and morality. I’ve written countless superheroes of every nationality and every part of the world before, I’ve even created many heroes from other planets and galaxies, but Chakra The Invincible is the first superhero I am creating specifically for the Indian market. My goal with Chakra is simple—I want to bring an Eastern concept like the chakras to the world via the Western genre of superheroes.”

Widely regarded as one of the greatest creators of the 20th and 21st centuries, Lee is the legendary writer and co-creator of the world’s most popular superheroes, including Spider-Man , X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Hulk™, The Avengers, and more. His characters have generated over $32 billion at the global box office and established some of the most beloved stories in history.

Orange Comet co-founder and CEO Dave Broome said, “We are thrilled with the response from fans around the world. In teaming with Graphic India, POW and GuardianLink.io, we’ve been able to take this amazing franchise and bring Hollywood and Bollywood together into the metaverse.”

The creative production for the drop was done by leading NFT entertainment company Orange Comet, who worked closely with the original Chakra The Invincible graphic novel artist and character designer, Jeevan J. Kang to design the new generative art pieces based on the comic characters. Orange Comet also used some of the original sketches that Lee and Devarajan were developing for an older, live action version of the character, to create original, high-end 3D animated NFT collectible art pieces showing each of Chakra’s powers.

Graphic India Chakra The Invincible co-creator and co-founder Devarajan added, “When Stan Lee and I created Chakra The Invincible, our goal was to connect fans from east and west together through the power of story, while also introducing one of the first Indian superheroes to the world giving new representation to over two billion South Asians. This NFT project has stayed true to that initial vision and succeeded in becoming the first major US-India NFT partnership. We definitely have a lot more planned for our new “Chakraverse” global community in the months ahead for the NFT and Metaverse space.”

GuardianLink.io also saw an amazing response from NFT collectors as collecting more than five NFTs qualified them to participate in its fast-paced treasure hunt. It is a mechanism designed by GuardianLink.io, where the NFT collectors qualify for collection of coins valued in the access of $50,000 that are randomly allocated to each of them. This is a first-of-its kind blockchain-generated treasure hunt that gives the large format NFT buyers a way to participate in key incentives and perks as a reward mechanism.

GuardianLink co-founder and COO Kameshwaran Elangovan said, This is a proud moment for us. Our first international NFT drop based on Indian culture received a resounding sell-out in the auctions. We are thrilled to see such an overwhelming response over our exclusive global NFT and this success is validation of Stan Lee’s unconditional fan following in India and globally. At GuardianLink.io, we have been on the forefront of the race to build and operate some of the largest Marketplaces and most advanced Creative NFTs in the space. With its foundation in Creative Media, GuardianLink.io has led the race in terms of designing high impact creative NFTs protected by our Anti.RIP technology and legitimacy protocol.”

“Stan was always so captivated and intrigued by emerging technology,” said Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment president Gill Champion.“Inspired by his fascination with new trends, we are honored to connect Stan’s fans to his first Indian superhero in an exciting new way with the Chakraverse NFT collection.”

Apart from being the first-ever NFT project bringing together a Bollywood and Hollywood connection, the global NFT’s also leveraged GuardianLink.io’s Anti.RIP AI Spyder technology. The technology prevents the NFT from being copied, protecting the exclusive rights of its owner which is currently a challenge in the NFT landscape.

The NFT drop was launched on the eco-conscious Polygon blockchain. Polygon is a climate sustainable blockchain that is over 99.99 per cent more carbon efficient than Ethereum.

To ensure a more streamlined experience for creators, users, and buyers alike, GuardianLink.io will be launching its very own marketplace on 7 January 2022. The NFT holders from their previous drops which were part of the BeyondLife.Club ecosystem will hold a great opportunity to further trade their NFTs on this new marketplace. Buyers, who missed on their opportunity to purchase their NFT from BeyondLife.Club, can now explore the marketplace more efficiently.
