MEL appoints Falke as SVP – OPS (cg)

As part of its ongoing team building excercise, Mumbai based Animation studio Maya Entertainment Limited (MEL) has appointed Shamboo Falke as Sr VP – Operations (CG).

Overseeing and planning on the animation production assignments and ensuring their timely deliveries will be Falke’s primary role at MEL.

Speaking to Animation ‘xpress, MEL CEO Rajesh Turakhia commented,”With the expansion of our studio and the move to the new facilities at Mindspace, MEL is expanding its production and management team to gear up to the new challenges that it has taken up. Mr Falke brings his vast experience which will be a valuable asset to MEL”

I have been hired specifically for consolidation and growth of the CG animation business at MEL”

Falke joins MEL with a prior experience in Animation and Multimedia production spanning more than 12 years. The experienced professional was with erstwhile Animation super power Pentamedia Graphics for around nine years where he was one of the first fifty employees to get on board.

At Pentamedia, Falke who holds a degree in computer science with a specialisation in digital storage, was involved in setting up four plants including the CD manafacturing and replication plant. He then shifted into the content side and was closelyy involved in the production of more than 80 computer based software tutorials and 15 multimedia story titles. Falke was also one of the main people working on Pentamedia’s The Legend of Buddha.

He quit Pentamedia to join Color Chips where he served as COO for 2 years. At Color Chips he was involved in the production and operations on Legend of Dragon 24 x 26 and Kiki Monochichi 13 x 26.
