Section Rouge Mdia Inc. Opens its Distribution Division

Image In Media Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Section Rouge M?©dia Inc. announced the appointment of Marie-Christine Dufour as Executive Vice-President, Distribution and Communications on 27 Sptember ’06, effective immediately.

Distribution and pre-sales are essential components of financing products internationally; with the addition of distribution expertise we will be in position to move ahead with our growth strategy and offer distribution and services to our partners and clients in addition to build our own catalogue of products”, said Pierre Bernatchez, COO of Section Rouge. “Building on our existing partnerships and on our financing, packaging and executive production expertise and now distribution, we will be able to build a mutually profitable synergy between us and content producers who can concentrate in developing winning ideas for the world marketplace”, he added.

“Image in Media’s business model provides content producers with the opportunity to present their products to an international marketplace always thirsty for original, high quality content” said Marie-Christine Dufour. “In the next few months, we will be looking to expand our network of partners to distributors, sales agents and broadcasters in order to finalize the financing of products in addition to building a catalogue for worldwide clients. It is quite exciting to be part of this new company,” she added.

Prior to joining Section Rouge and Image in Media, Ms. Dufour spent seven years with the Montr?©al-based animation company Cin?©Groupe. In January 2002, she was promoted to Executive Vice-President of Distribution, PreSales and Marketing where she led Cin?©Groupe’s pre-sales, sales and licensing efforts domestically and internationally. She was also responsible for marketing Cin?©Groupe’s products on multiple platforms such as mobile phones, DVD, Internet. Amongst key projects, she led the commercialization efforts for the 3D series Tripping the Rift (Film Roman, SciFi US) in addition to being the Executive Producer of the upcoming Tripping the Rift multi-player game, as well as the distribution and merchandising of Sagwa: the Chinese Siamese Cat (Sesame Workshop, PBS) in the U.S. and internationally.

Prior to joining Cin?©Groupe, Ms. Dufour spent three years with Coscient Group where she set up the corporate communications, governmental affairs and investor relations departments following a short stint with Malofilm. She has also worked at Astral Communications with Harold Greenberg, Chairman and Founder and at TVOntario. Dufour spent seven years with the Canadian Government Department of Communications as senior manager. She is on the Board of the Quebec Film and Television Bureau and on the International strategic committee of the Montr?©al Chamber of Commerce and was on the Executive of the Board of the CFTPA (Canadian Film and Television Producers Association) and was Chair of the Association’s Policy Committee. She also sat on the Executive Board of Canadian Women in Communications (CWC) and was President of the CWC’s Quebec Chapter.
