Cory Edwards

Director Cory Edwards, whose credits include the 2005 animation Hoodwinked! and the upcoming Netflix feature Fearless, has been tapped to write and direct sci-fi animated comedy Doomstar: Janitorial.

Doomstar: Janitorial centers on Gabe, a lowly janitor on a powerful space station. When his home planet becomes the station’s next target, Gabe and his blue-collar buddies spring into sabotage to stop it. With aliens chasing them and robots zapping them, they’ll clean up their most dangerous mess yet.

Producers are Vanguard Animation’s John Williams (Shrek franchise) and DNEG’s Director of Feature Animation Tom Jacomb (Puss in Boots), who are also currently working on The Silk Road Rally in production with Riverstone Pictures, Kintop Pictures and ReDefine (a DNEG subsidiary) and repped by MadRiver International and CAA.

Peter Seaman (writer, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Shrek the Third) is executive producing Doomstar: Janitorial and contributing to story development. Artist Carter Goodrich (Open Season, Ratatouille, Despicable Me, Hotel Transylvania, The Croods) is handling character design.

Fearless is set to debut on Netflix on 14 August. The animated pic follows a pair of teenagers who take on the hardest babysitting job on Earth when three super-powered babies are unlocked from a video game.
